Haunted Windchimes to play A Prairie Home Companion Oct. 29

(from coloradosprings.com)

If you listen to A Prairie Home Companion much, then you'll know that founder/star Garrison Keillor is a friend to music, especially regional music. And on Oct. 29, he'll be a friend to the Haunted Windchimes, popular Pueblo band.

The group -- which writes and performs  lonesome and raucous downhome folk -- will appear in the show's appearance that day at the World Arena. Their performance will be broadcast along with the rest of the show.

FUEL/FRIENDS CHAPEL SESSIONS #6: FEAT. THE CHANGING COLORS

(PHOTO TAKEN FROM FUELFRIENDSBLOG.COM)

(From FuelFriendsBlog.com)

There is a sweet intuition in watching brothers playing or sisters singing together. Some of that familial DNA seems to weave its way through the verses, the octave changes and the rhythm shifts. When my sister and I sing together, it’s like singing with myself but in stereo. Watching Colorado Springs’ Conor and Ian Bourgal of The Changing Colors play together, it’s as if one person splintered into two – a river of fraternal goodness.

INTRODUCING: THE GHOST OF MICHAEL CLARK

For many of you on the front range this is not the first time you've heard of Mr. Mike Clark. You've probably witnessed his fierce and often epic performances with The Jack Trades, heard the countrified stomping' sing-alongs of Crow Flies and was serenaded by his multi-instrumental shows as a member of The Haunted Windchimes. Like his first band implies he truly is a jack of all trades, and shows a slightly different side of his genius with each new project.

THE HAUNTED WINDCHIMES
"LIVE AT THE WESTERN JUBILEE"
ALBUM REVIEW

If you like your music with fancy picking, close harmonies and a little twang, then prepare to meet your new favorite band — the Haunted Windchimes from Pueblo, Colorado. A down-home family band with a taste for authentic string band music, the quintet features guitarist Inaiah Lujan, his sister Chela on the banjo, his girlfriend Desirae Garcia on ukelele and kazoo, upright bassist Sean Fanning and Mike Clark holding down harmonica, mandolin and a few other odds and ends.

JOE JOHNSON - "A TIME TO DANCE" ALBUM REVIEW

While there’s not much new to be done with an acoustic guitar and a man’s voice, it’s always encouraging to hear those two instruments used by a true artist. Joe Johnson’s debut album, “A Time to Dance,” is a simple, honest country record, without all the bells, whistles and satin shirts that that phrase might call to mind.
